I love a family that is willing to brave the Fort Wayne winter weather for a family portrait session:) Even though we didn’t have any snow, the pictures turned out beautifully. I love a challenge and anytime you get 6 children under the age of 10 you have a photo challenge. I had a blast with this family and by the end of the portrait session I felt like I had 11 additional family members. I was even talking to their kids like they were mine ha! It is going to seem ironic that I’m saying this on my photo blog, but I follow very few blogs and the few that I follow rarely make me take action or even hold my interest long enough to get to the end of each post with the exception of one, Jones Design Company. This is my favorite resource for all thing crafty, home decoration ideas, normal frustrating mom things, and much more. I just recently came across a post, The Thankful Tree, and thought I would share. This post inspired me to take action.
This can be a stressful, busy time for our family. Our Thankful Tree helps everyone (my husband and I) slow down and take a moment to really think about what really matters. My children are young (2 and 4) so what is important to them (tractors, ponies, trains etc…) will become great memories when we look back on these tags several years from now. However, mine and my husband’s tags help us appreciate each other more. The Thankful Tree is a way to lighten the mood after a tense day!
I wanted to get it up and going, but I still plan to add glitter to the branches. Once this is done I will retake the photo during daylight hours to show you the finished tree.
Did you get to the end of this post!? pheeeewwwww I’m one step closer to being a better blogger 🙂

Portraits can make great gifts for mom’s, grandma’s and any other family member. This photo session was specifically done to give the prints as gifts for grandma. The last portrait that Andrea’s daughters, nieces, and nephew had together was 3 1/2 years ago! Andrea brought a portrait from 3 1/2 years ago when her daughter was barely 8 months old. We replicated the position of the grandkids and shot a modern day version of the much older grandkids. Andrea plans on ordering prints for her mother to replace the dated one’s she currently has for Christmas. What a great idea! The kids did great and it is amazing to see how each child has changed and grown.

Best for last…the Pursley family was my last fall mini session of the day. The lighting was probably the best it had been all day and their portraits turned out wonderfully. I don’t think their little girls could get any cuter! Thanks Gwen and Randy for allowing me to photograph your family…again 🙂 I hope you enjoy your fall family portraits.

It has been close to 5 years since I have seen the Traylor family! Oh how their kids have grown. It was an absolute pleasure photographing this family. Matt and my husband used to work together in sales and we went our separate ways as our families grew larger and careers took us to different places. They were my second fall portrait session of the day and their pictures turned out absolutely spectacular. I captured my favorite family portrait session to date 🙂 I just love the area, the pose, and each one them. It is just perfect…would it be weird if I wanted to hang this on my wall at home…okay so I won’t hang it on my wall, but it is definitely going in a portfolio. I hope you guys enjoyed your session and I hope you love your photos as much as I do 🙂
