In order to achieve those cute, sleeping, and rolled in ball type of shots I recommend to schedule your newborn photo shoot within the first 2 weeks of your little one’s birth. After the two week mark newborns start to stretch out and are much less likely to stay in those cute poses you envisioned. I know you may be thinking “first 2 weeks” I won’t even be out of my pajamas…I completely understand! I give all new moms the option to have me come to your home and I won’t even be offended if you answer the door in your pj’s 🙂 As a mother of two under the age of 4 I know how difficult it can be to time your breastfeeding schedule with your next bathroom break let alone a trip outside the house. Don’t let the time slip past you! Contact Sheets Photography to prepare for your newborn session.

What a beautiful day we had! Thanks for driving up for your photo session. One more weekend and I think the fall leaves would have been gone! You two were so easy to work with and your engagement pictures reflect your easy going, fun relationship! Can’t waif for round two with the Harley:)

Thanks for a great session and my lesson on baseball stats 🙂 Most of my senior guys are in and out; your patience allowed me to try some new ideas and your senior pictures turned out great. Can’t wait for the basketball session!

When scheduling family pictures, many of my clients ask what I recommend for clothing. Some families find it easier to just tell everyone in the photograph to wear white shirts and jeans; however, you can get each persons personality and have a better picture by having a little variety. Now… I said a little variety! Here are my tips for picking out clothing for your family portrait. This is what I do…
1. Select one piece of clothing that has a pattern (usually this is one of the children). From that patterned piece pick some colors you like or have in your closet. These colors will be what everyone else wears. If there is more than one child you can put the other child in a pattern too, but make sure it matches in color.
2. Pull pieces from your closet for each family member, lay them on the floor and photograph them from above. Come back to the photos is a couple of days to see which set of outfits stands out to you as your favorite.
As you can see by the images below, I had three different sets of outfits picked out. I sent these to my other family members and they chose the grey and yellow color scheme and dressed accordingly. The photos on the right is the finished image…not too bad! Variety but not chaotic.
If you are ever in doubt send me your images and I can help you make a decision or give you some suggestions on what to wear for your family photo.
